Whilst Light Domain is a better 1 level dip, 2 levels of War Domain gives you Channel Divinity-War God's Blessing which gives you a +10 to hit on a single attack. Speaking of level 7, if you are planning to get there I would maybe consider switching the Cleric domain in option 1 from Light to War Domain. In the the long term, you can add 1 level of Fighter for the extra accuracy without sacrificing much, and with enough Monk levels eventually you'll be able to up the damage dice of your Hand crossbow to a d8 or d10 which is the same as using a Longbow or heavy crossbow respectively. (Which you are no slouch in either.) You get extra damage with Kensei Shot and Deft Strike and, unlike every other choice, you are amazing at dismantling fellow ranged opponents thanks to your Deflect Missiles ability and increased speed to outmanoeuvre them. With it you get an increased movement speed, Unarmoured Defence, and a Bonus Action Dash/Disengage making yourself harder to catch and pin down in close combat. Kensei Monk 6 - Might also be worth a consideration. This is a bit of a 1 trick pony, with maybe not enough spell slots, but notable still. Maybe this would be a valid level 7 build, starting with Fighter for CON Save Prof.ħ-Warlock Hexblade 5 + Fighter 1 - Using a +1 Crossbow, hiding in darkness for advantage, with Archery from Fighter. No archery fighting style until Fighter 1 is multiclassed. Could also shove if needed, or get more martial dice with a feat Gets better versatility than Samurai.Ħ-Bard Valor 6 - Faerie Fire frenzy, inspiring allies on casting turns, dealing frenzy damage on attacking turns, with natural expertise if shoving was even needed. Loses out on extra hunter attack, but is not dependent on magic for better hits.Ĥ-Fighter Samurai 6 - using Samurai advantage to deliver pain, and shoving enemies on other turns with expertise athletics feat.ĥ-Fighter Battlemaster 6 - using trip attack and/or precision strike. I'm looking for a level 6 build, and here are the ones I'm pondering:ġ-Ranger 5 Hunter + Cleric 1 Light - getting bless to improve chances of landing Sharpshooter, and Warding Flare to prevent losing concentration.Ģ-Sorcerer 1 Divine + Ranger 5 Hunter - Getting Bless, Shield spell, and Constitution save proficiency to prevent concentration loss, at the cost of being MAD for multiclass.ģ-Ranger 5 Rogue 1 - Getting athletics expertise to shove enemies and attack later, without melee disadvantage thanks to Crossbow Expert, and getting some extra dmg. Humna Variant with Crossbow Expert and Sharpshooter. Not for any particular campaign, but for standing on its own. I've been wanting to try a Sharpshooter Build build for a while, but I'm unsure of how to wrap it up.
